Volunteer Marketing Assistant: Looking for individual to assist Executive Director with program development, market research, executing the marketing plan, event planning, grant research and more. Prior marketing experience preferred, however, volunteers with a great attitude and without prior marketing experience looking to gain experience will be considered. Hours are flexible; work can be done in our office or at home. Computer knowledge needed, good oral and written communication skills, personable, outgoing, creative, independent thinker. Marketing and PR skills desirable.
Volunteer Coordinator: Looking for individual to coordinate our volunteers with excellent communication and people skills. Effectively present information to small groups and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Complete volunteer application process with all prospective volunteers. Compile and maintain volunteer records. Conduct on-site training with volunteers in all volunteer programs. Conduct intermittent check-ins with volunteer to assure that their needs are being met and that the time is being used effectively. Provide Executive Director with a brief monthly update. The Volunteer Coordinator will follow-up on any concern and or needs as noted by Executive Director.
Online Discussion Moderator: We would like to encourage and host online discussions on various topics of social interest, such as Global Warming, Poverty, Violence prevention, etc. If you have expertise and interest in such an area, we would like to hear from you. You would be responsible for answering people's questions, coming up with resource and activity ideas, and inspiring people to create Care Circles to help address these issues. This is a volunteer position.
Care Circle Coach: As a Care Circle Coach you will assist people who want to lead a Care Circle (a small group of people who meet on some regular basis to discuss and take positive action in some area of mutual concern). You’ll do this by giving them emotional and logistical support, walking them through the process of setting up a Care Circle and helping them get their Care Circle going. Once they are up and running successfully, you can move on to help other Care Circle Leaders. You can choose to be a resource for specific areas of interest (ie, you may be interested in helping Care Circles which focus on environmental issues, or poverty…), or you can elect to help any focus area. We will provide you with training and support in your efforts and you’ll have the reward of seeing the positive action that results!
Computer Contribution Campaign Manager: This is an opportunity for someone who wants to help us build our program and manage the process from receiving donated equipment to refurbishing, recycling, and redistributing the computers. We are expanding this program into a life-skills training program, and welcome people with management experience and a desire to help kids learn about technology as a way to get job skills they can apply in the work force. This volunteer work would need to be completed at the Global Harmony Institute office in Farmington during normal business hours. Volunteers should be able to commit 10 to 30 hours per month to this task.
Computer Assistant(s): Help with our Computer Contribution Campaign to refurbish donated computers to get them into the hands of students with financial need, nonprofits, and others who might otherwise not have access to this technology. This volunteer work would need to be completed at the Global Harmony Institute office in Farmington during normal business hours. Volunteers should be able to commit at least 5 to 10 hours per month to this task.
Care Circle.net Nominations and Outreach: We’re looking to kick-start our Care Circle listings which are a free service to list on our web site the names and activities of Care Circles all over the world. Our hope is to jumpstart and populate CareCircle.net with Care Circles so that other people will be inspired by these listings to start and post their own. As the list grows it will be a source of inspiration and ideas to all. Phone and Internet communication skills will be important. Upon the completion of a 30-minute orientation, you can complete this task from your home, on your computer!
Web Researcher and Marketer: Requires someone with Internet and marketing savvy. We need to get the word out on who we are and what we do. We want to become listed on appropriate reference sites, and to link back to them. If you have the skills in this area, we have the need! This work can be done from your home computer with weekly in-person or phone contact with the GHI staff. A 30-minute orientation must be completed before you can begin working from home.
