What are the benefits of donating my used computer(s)?
There are many benefits to donating your used equipment:
- Helping someone gain access to technology, they would not otherwise be able to afford
- Supporting your nonprofit community
- Freeing up landfill use
- Keeping heavy metals out of our groundwater
- Recycling nonrenewable resources
- Ensuring that your data is removed from your drives and not available for mining

Why do I have to pay a donation fee? How are the fees used?
The donation fees we charge are used to cover the cost of the general programming of Global Harmony Institute and the Computer Contribution Program. Some of the general programming fees will cover the costs of program management, disk-wiping & reformatting, refurbishing, responsibly recycling equipment that can not be used, and loading licensed software for the recipient.

Does Global Harmony Institute take all computers?
No. The main goal of this program is to refurbish computers for other nonprofit organizations, school or students. We can not take computers that have had the hard drives removed, computers not in functioning order or computers with processors that are not a Pentium III class or better. You can contact your local municipality to dispose your computer if it does not meet the above criteria for this program or GHI will properly dispose of your computer equipment for $1 per pound.
To donate an un used computer to the program the computer must meet the following guidelines.
* The computer must currently be running Windows 2000 or better
* The computer must be a Pentium III or equivalent or better.
* All of the computer drivers must be working, ie, video, CD, DVD, etc.
* We do not take monitors without a working CPU.
Donation fees: $10 for a CPU $20 for a Monitor with a CPU
Please note: We can not refurbish printers, oversized equipment, software or servers at this time.
If your unused computer equipment does not meet the above minimum standards, we can RECYCLE your equipment for a $1 per pound.

Who pays the donation fees?
The person donating the used equipment pays the donation fees. The donations fees may be tax deductible. You will need to consult with your accountant. Fees are not charged to the person or organization receiving the refurbished computer.

What are the donation fees for the used computer equipment?
Donation fees apply to each individual unit as follows:
- Laptop—$10
- PC—CPU—$10
- Monitor—$20

What types of computer equipment does Global Harmony Institute accept?
At this time, we can not accept the following:
- Servers
- Scanners or Printers
- Misc. Office Equipment
- Monitors with out working CPU's
- Macintosh equipment
- Software
- Oversize equipment

Who receives the refurbished computers?
- Schools
- Nonprofit organizations
- Students with financial need
- Others who might otherwise not have access to this technology

What are the specs on the refurbished computers?
Each refurbished computer is built to these minimum specifications:
- CPU Speed: Pentium III or higher
- RAM: 256MB
- Hard Drive: 24+GB
In addition, each machine is loaded with a licensed copy of Windows 2000, or Windows XP.
