 GHI Board of Directors Meeting Minutes – March 13, 2007
7-8:30pm
In attendance: Vi Beaudreau, Jennifer Boyd, Hope Emery, Kate Emery, Kim Hoare, Janet Kniffin ,Steve Silk, Brenda Steigman
Absent: Jennifer Boyd, Jennifer Jacobson
Business
Move to approve the Action Plan was supported.
Move to approve the Budget was supported.
Move to approve the Changes to the Bylaws was supported.
Program Update
- CareCircle.Net – Brenda discussed some of the changes that have been made to CareCircle.net to improve usability. Kate showed a graph of our Care Circle growth, and we will continue to show this growth at every meeting. Kate reported that a commercial is being produced by Jennifer Boyd (shot the same day as our board meeting) and that this will be aired in May or June with Comcast.
- Computer Contributions – Brenda explained how this program is ramping back up after the move and that we’re looking for corporate sponsors to take it to the next step.
Marketing and Outreach
Grants and outreach– Brenda listed all the organizations (primarily banks and schools) that we have been asked to visit and make a pitch for one or more of our programs.
Fundraising Committe
- Brenda will be chairing this group, but as she was unable to make the first meeting, Kate reported on what transpired in our newly created Fundraising Committee.
- It was agreed by all that the goals and role of the fundraising committee will be to come up with an appropriate fundraising goal in terms of dollars, and to determine what fundraising programs we will undertake, and will also work to ensure that we meet our fundraising goals. Any activity suggested will require a fundraising committee member to be the spearhead, but additional planning for specific events will be done by a separate subcommittee.
- Care Circle Celebration – This will be a Fall fundraising event, spearheaded by Brenda. We will use it as a way to promoted the CareCircle.net, and our Care Circle Awards.
- Houseparties – Kate and Janet will work on putting a houseparty together at Kate’s house.
- Online Auction – Vi asked that board members tell him about stuff that could be auctioned off. He will pick up any auctionable stuff, and take care of listing it.
Next Meeting – The next meeting date is set to 5/8/07
There being no more business to attend to the business portion of the meeting was adjourned at 8:40.
