 GHI Fundraising Committee – Meeting Minutes - April 17, 2007
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
In attendance: Vi Beaudreau, Kate Emery, Janet Kniffin, Brenda Steigman
Care Circle Celebration
- Venue - The group discussed the event venues relative to the size of the proposed celebration. It was decided to check on the cost and availability of the Amsted Hall in Farmington for a location to hold more people, Care Circle Exhibits and Silent Auction. Vi and a member of the GHI staff will also visit the Apricot Restaurant room holding 75 seated people as a back up. Grace will contact the Grist Mill to let them know the size of the venue is too small and find out if they would like to donate something for the Silent Auction.
- Host/MC - Brenda will also prepare information to set up a meeting with Diane Smith from Positively Connecticut to ask her to Host/MC the Celebration. For an event with less then 100 attendees, MC/Host possibilities include TV News anchors, Mayor or public representative
- Silent Auction - Vi will work with Brenda on a contact list to begin soliciting items for the Silent Auction.
House parties– Janet and Kate have set up a meeting to begin planning the first event.
Auction
- Ongoing Ebay - Vi has received a few items to offer on ebay. Kate will put a note in the next Board of Director’s meeting to encourage members to bring something to auction at the next meeting.
- Care Circle Celebration - Vi and Brenda will also begin working on gathering items for the Care Circle Celebration
Next Meeting – The next Conference Call meeting date is June 12 at 12:30 pm.
There being no more business to attend to the business portion of the meeting was adjourned at 1:50 pm.
