Kate Emery - President
 Katherine Hope Emery - Kate Emery is CEO and Owner of Walker Systems Support, a professional computer management firm located in Farmington, Connecticut.
“I was never into the technology per se, but that was my background.” (Kate earned her Master’s degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.) “What intrigued me was the idea of building a business.”
Having developed Walker from the ground up to its current stature as a well respected professional services firm which employs over 30 people, Kate has been able to turn the day to day operations of the business over to her management staff, and began to consider what to do next. It became increasingly important to me to find ways to give back.
Kate’s family background holds much of the explanation for this resolve: Both her mother and father started and nurtured many services in their town, and while never preaching, always simply expected that their 5 children would give back as well.
“I spent a long time searching for a way of giving back that worked for me, and at some point it became obvious that using the experience and resources that I’ve gained with Walker Systems Support was could be channeled into other endeavors.
At the same time I decided that if there were to be one thing I wanted to dedicate my life to it would be global harmony, and so the Global Harmony Institute was born.”
Outside of her work with Global Harmony Institute and Walker Systems Support, she is involved in a variety of volunteer activities such as Hospice, mentoring, and leadership development. She’s an avid oil painter, and lives with her six year old son and husband of 12 years in Farmington, Connecticut.
